U Look So Good is a cycle-based wellness app. It helps women connect with their bodies through nutrition, movement and mood guidance for each phase of the menstrual cycle.

This was a 0 → 1 project. We led product design and worked closely with an illustrator to create an experience that feels empowering and approachable.

Affirmation screens with illustrated characters and supportive messages for each cycle phase

The challenge

Most cycle apps focus on data, not the person. They log symptoms, but rarely adapt to mood, energy or mental state.

Our question was simple: how can we help women feel good about their bodies on every day of their cycle?

We needed to design:

  • A cycle-aware journey that celebrates every phase: follicular, ovulation, luteal and menstrual
  • A visual and tone system that changes with each phase, from colors to affirmations
  • A friendly experience that teaches without overwhelming
Log Symptom flow: cycle calendar, symptom checklist and the updated calendar

Our approach

We started by mapping the emotional and physical patterns of the cycle. Each phase became a theme in the content, the UI, the illustration style and the tone of voice:

  • Follicular phase: uplifting blues and energetic words. “Your body is gearing up for ovulation.”
  • Ovulation phase: bright greens and confident affirmations. “You’re glowing, and it shows.”
  • Luteal phase: calming yellows and caring prompts. “Be gentle with yourself today.”
  • Menstrual phase: soft reds and nurturing guidance. “It’s time to rest and restore.”

The visual system follows how users feel through their cycle, and guides them with care and rhythm.

1. Personal daily feed

Each morning starts with a personal note, like “Good morning, Sevgi!”, plus the current phase, the days until the next period and tailored tips.

2. Smart affirmations

Daily affirmations celebrate progress and emotional balance, mixing science and empathy.

3. Log and learn

A clean calendar lets users log symptoms, moods and patterns. Insights get better as the app learns more about them.

4. Adaptive themes

Colors and illustrations change with each phase, so every screen feels alive and human.

5. Brand and visual language

With the illustrator, we built a friendly, confident and body-positive identity. The characters show real emotions, from energetic mornings to quiet moments, so users can see themselves in the app.

Soft but vivid type and colors balance calm with motivation. The tone mixes science-backed advice with positive words, turning each phase into a moment of self-care.

The result

  • A complete 0 → 1 product, ready for launch
  • A visual system that follows hormonal and emotional cycles naturally
  • A consistent brand language that empowers, teaches and connects
  • Featured on app stores, with positive early feedback like “I’ve never felt better on my period.” and “Even my cramps got better!”
